locked on chiefs podcast. The Kansas City chiefs have given Patrick Mahomes the

largest sports contract in the history of North America.

I'm Ryan, your host over at RGR football,

as well as the founder of Rogue Analytics and Analytics will play a part in the coming years because this

blockbuster deal that was announced today we haven't seen all the details yet right

now it's been about 20 minutes since we heard the news it is a 10 year contract for Patrick Mahomes. This is an extension on top of the two years that he has remaining on his deal.

So right now, the MVP, the guy that I keep referring to as the only MVP is under contract for the Kansas

Chiefs through the year 2031. A lot will change between now and then in terms of compensation. Maybe this deal gets

redone and maybe he plays through it. We never know exactly. But that is a long-term

contract that sets him up to be the figurehead of the NFL for that length of time as well.

We don't have a ton of detail right now.

As I'm recording this, it's been maybe 20, 30 minutes, As I'm recording this it's been maybe 20 30 minutes and I'm

trying to get out. I'm going to record this show in increments. Not like we

usually do where we sit down and go all in one go this first section is right now the initial

reaction I'm going to give you details as we hear them hopefully before we

have to go to upload today but right now what we know is that it's a 10 year

extension that the chiefs and

Patrick Mahomes will be together through 2031 that gives them the edge.

A lot of initial questioning of the structure, we don't have any of that yet.
