All right, the Chiefs just knocked off the Texans 3420 in the NFL season opener at Arrowhead Stadium tonight

in a football game that looked unlike any other we've seen

before after the pandemic and in a new era with about 16,000 fans at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs

win at 3420. Good evening, everyone. This is just kind of a quick game recap. Tomorrow, I'll have the

full podcast for you. I don't know who's going to listen to this tonight or early in the morning, but I'm glad you've joined us. If you are, we'll have much more coming up mid-morning with a

complete recap of the game. My thoughts on everything that took place, and we'll bust it down real good

for you tomorrow on the regular podcast. Tonight, I thought the Texans looked lethargic at times.

The Chiefs did that to them. With the score right

before the half and then coming out in the second half and scoring, Chiefs took the big lead,

and I thought at that point the Texans looked like they just wanted to run clock and get out

of there. At one point, the Texans seemed to get it going there toward the end of the game,

but never really threatened Kansas City. Chiefs just controlled this game. They are so much better than the Houston Texans. to get it going there toward the end of the game, but never really threatened Kansas City.

I felt like the Texans knew they were beat, and you could sort of feel that in this game. Patrick Mahomes, three touchdown passes, 24 out of 32. Right after the game, he said it was really interesting. He said, what it was enjoyable to him was, quote, to be doing something normal again, unquote. And he was talking

about what our lives have all been the last six months. And I totally appreciate and respect that.

But to hear him say to be doing something normal again, I don't think of him and the Chiefs

offense as normal in any way. And to hear him say, oh, we're just out here doing something normal again, I don't think of him and the Chief's offense as normal in any way. And to hear him say, oh, we're just out here doing something normal again. What I see is always abnormal. And to be honest, I'll give the Chief's offense tonight like a B or maybe even a B minus. The Texans seemed hellbent on making sure that Mahomes was not going to beat them with big plays downfield to Tyree Kill. There was not much of a vertical passing game. The Chiefs did an awful lot of running the football and dinking and dunking tonight. Clyde Edwards Selaire stepped up. First game in the National Football League, 35 carries, 138 yards, and a touchdown. I thought he struggled inside the five. That's going to need some work. But there wasn't a lot of creativity. I don't know if Andy Reid was breaking him into the NFL tonight by saying, look, we're going to try to pat, you know, you're a little guy. This is how hard it is to score down here. They had a big lead. They had an opportunity to give him the ball maybe five or six times inside the five-yard line to try to score, and he just got blown up on a few

of them. Look, we know the Chiefs offense is more creative than that. We know they're not going to get

to fourth down and goal when a game matters. They'll have a better play call, something a little

more sophisticated, where they create space and they score. I thought they were kind of coaching this
