From the land of the free and the home of the chiefs, this is the

locked on chiefs podcast. Welcome back folks. It is that kind of time where we have

to experiment with what we're talking about a little bit farther

uh because there's nothing going on we're in that low we're uh at this point

36 days out of camp I think when you're going to be listening to this and that really sounds like a lot but it's not it's going to go fast.

We are lucky enough to get Matt Derek back with us from Chief Stai just to go over about some of the things that we think we're going to see when we get to train a camp.

I am keeping up as best that I can.

A lot of things going on, and it's been really busy.

I thought just as we take a step back from the whole thing

I felt like with all the changes that have gone on this off season it really felt to me not just from

you know the let's just a positive kind of coach speak to the players and everything else felt like this team is making some strides at least in the way

that they're performing together as a unit and trying to like form another nucleus of a new team.

Yeah, I think so. I mean, obviously when you're talking about that and the attitude of the maybe the players and the things you hear about chemistry

It's more about the defense and the defensive coaching staff and in how it all fits together and you know and what you know what you know what the honeymoon of Steve Spagnolo

era should still be going and it is I mean it's in full force.

Everybody's optimistic they haven't played a game yet so that helps part of it.

There obviously were frustrations with the last couple of seasons that I think were clearly growing and even with the turnover and personnel there's players who

were left behind that were not necessarily completely pleased with maybe the

way things had gone and it's now you've got a new coaching status coming in with a completely different approach.

Is it going to work? We'll see. I mean, I think there's reason to be plenty optimistic that things will work out.
