By now, I think most of the world knows what happened or at least some of what happened in Israel, the terror group Hamas, the Iranian-backed terror group Hamas,

in an unprovoked attack, destroyed the lives of, I don't know, a thousand or more Israelis.

Literally, it shocked the world, shocked Israel, shocked the United States, and now the Israelis have begun their counteroffensive.

The American politics being what it is has begun to complain that Israel is trying to do too much or trying to hurt the Palestinians.

Well, guess what? That's what happens in war when you attack people and destroy them and massacre women and children and take hostages.

Like a some kind of command you raid, and to talk about this is none of the Charles Lipton, Professor Emeritus, the University of Chicago, our friend, Jeff Carlin and I consider him a friend.

And Jeff Carlin, of course, the man who loves cats and someday will teach physics in a high school of Chicago or somewhere in Illinois.

Consider what Mr. Sullivan, Jake Sullivan, the NSC director for Biden said the other day.

Because we want to depressurize, deescalate and ultimately integrate the Middle East region.

The war in Yemen is in its 19 month of truce. For now, the Iranian attacks against US forces have stopped.

Our presence in Iraq is stable. I emphasize for now because all of that can change. And the Middle East region is quieter today than it has been in two decades.

How's Lipson? What say you about this commentary from Mr. Sullivan?

I don't know if you've ever experienced a hurricane, but there would be people who were standing in the middle of the eye of the hurricane as Jake Sullivan unwittingly was.

And say, boy, it certainly seems calm around here. And then they extrapolate that out for the next couple of hours at which point they're blowing somewhere over Florida.

I want to call your attention to two points, actually, besides Sullivan being a kind of apparatchic.

Remember, Sullivan is the guy who put together the 51 intelligence officers condemning the 100 Biden laptop as a possible Russian disinformation operation.

He knows all the earmarks and no attention. And then Joe Biden in a in a debate presidential debate said, of course, it was Russian disinformation when all he had to do was ask his son.
