I'm your host Gordon McGuinness, joined today by Dalton Wasserman,

and we are breaking down the Seattle Seahawks 6-3 win over the Chicago Bears on Thursday night football.

Not a game for the light of heart, not a big, powerful offensive showing by any team.

Both teams really, really struggled.

Going to jump straight in with my stat that told the story of the game, it's Tori Taylor punt in the ball seven times, right?

It's become a meme now, but Caleb Williams telling Taylor that you wouldn't have to punt

much in Chicago is aging like milk. And this bears offense just couldn't get anything going

outside of those screen passes that they ran, which were quite effective early on in the game.

This passing game for me though is starting

to remind me of, if you remember the Lamar Jackson passing offense when the Ravens had Greg

Roman as the offensive coordinator there, whereby the passing game, the goal of the passing game

was basically let let Lamar work some magic and then someone will eventually get open and we'll

throw the ball and we'll get there. It just feels in this bears offense like there's very little

in the way of in structure success. I looked at our separation report heading into this past week.

They didn't have a single receiver or tight end in the top 50 in the NFL and separation percentage.

The pass blocking wasn't great last night. Like I think it's been okay for much of the year, but now that

they've had a couple of injuries last night, it looked pretty rough. If you have receivers not

getting open and if you have an offensive line that's struggling to pass block like they did last

night, you understand one, why they had to use as many screens as they did but you also understand why

Caleb Williams just running for his life and just you know trying to throw the ball downfield the

the plays where he's running backwards and just throwing the ball as as he's running backwards
