Welcome back to the lead on a day of damning evidence about events inside the Trump White

House and the lead up to January 6 and on that day, we're getting new reaction to the

stunning testimony in today's hearing, including what we heard from former White House counsel

Pat Sipaloni.

Let's go to CNN's Caitlin Collins, who's working her sources in Trump world, even as she

travels with President Biden on the other side of the planet.

Caitlin, what are you hearing about former President Trump's reaction to Sipaloni's testimony

that we heard excerpts of today?

Well, Jake, the former president certainly had some trepidation when it was made clear

that Sipaloni was going to go in and testify, and he didn't come out and do it publicly

in the way that Cassidy Hutchinson did, but really, it's just as effective because there

are these clips of Pat Sipaloni's testimony.

He was present for several of the key meetings.

We had seen some rebuttals of Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony by saying she was quoting

secondhand information or things that she had overheard.

Pat Sipaloni was actually in a lot of these meetings, and so he was there able to help

flush out some of these moments to talk about that insane meeting that happened in mid-December

at the White House and whatnot.

But also, Jake, there were some moments where he went out of his way.

It seemed almost to needle for a resident.

Trump, when it came to how his reaction is going to be watching these clips, it was a moment
