don't we go ahead and just introduce the show and dive right in.

So this week I had the opportunity to talk to Molly Strawspah, and she's an assistant director

at the Chemical Abstract Service, otherwise known as the CAS.

Or, if you're a chemistry student, you might have called it the CAS.

It's actually a division of the American Chemical Society and what they do, it's really interesting actually, they

identify, aggregate, and organize all publicly disclosed chemistry information.

So they've basically created this valuable collection of content that is available to

researchers, patent professionals, people in industry, students,

across the board, if they need to know something

about the basic chemistry of all these different products and

solutions. So we're going to talk about that, we're going to talk a bit about

the periodic table, but mostly we're going to talk about what chemistry is and why it matters because you know what?

We don't talk about chemistry enough on the show.
