We didn't have cheerleaders at my high school or pep rallies. I think we would have made

fun of cheerleaders and cheering at our school because we were scared and cruel and

we had no idea what we were missing.

My son just started high school and a couple weeks ago I snuck into the school's first

Pep chapel, which is a kind of Pep rally. The Pep chapels are held in the mornings before school,

the day before football games.

Anyway, the entire school was packed into the gym,

and I went up to the top of the bleachers to watch.
