Summary
Last week we introduced you to Sophie, the newest character in our world of children's books.
Today, we're checking in - with a huge thank you - halfway through the Kickstarter campaign.
As you may have seen, we hit the target in 15 minutes. Now, as the campaign continues, we're donating books to local schools, hosting Online Salons, and giving you two last chances to be in the book... if you're quick.
The project will end on Friday February 6th. You can get your own copy here.
Thanks to all who've contributed so far - merci mille fois.

| 0:00.0 | Hello, |
| 0:01.7 | all of a G. And this is the Aval Tower podcast. Sitting across from me is Mademoiselle. Oh, wow. Lina, Nordin, G. Thank you. Thank you. That was totally unnecessary. I don't think you're allowed to say Mademoiselle anymore. Yeah, I'm not sure. There was a revolt. Yeah. There was a revolution about it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How dare you define someone. |
| 0:23.7 | Let's rewind. |
| 0:24.7 | Madam. was there anymore. Yeah, I'm not sure. There was a revolt. Yeah. There was a revolution about it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How dare you define someone. Madame. Merci. We're just doing a short episode about the progress of our Kickstarter. Yeah, a little update. I've got to be honest. I hesitated to do this episode. You know why? Because two in a row. Two in a row about a book. |
| 0:39.2 | There are people out there who don't care about children's book. I'm going to say it. |
| 0:42.9 | There's people out there who don't care about children. That's true. It's true. |
| 0:48.3 | It's true. I feel like you're changing direction here, but yeah, sure. |
| 1:29.1 | Back to the revolution. No, it's true. There are some people who don't give a hoot about it, but at the same time, this is something that's extremely important to us, both financially, and it's a project that we love doing. So, look, you come to the wrong episode if you don't want to hear about it. Yeah, keep on scrolling. But if you're one of these people who I will later refer to as lurkers, I'm going to be talking to you. Well, they don't know who I'm talking about yet. But no, I want to start with the most important. If you haven't heard last week's episode, we're in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign for our fifth children's book. |
| 1:29.8 | Yes. |
| 1:31.0 | Sophie and Paris. |
| 1:38.8 | This episode is going to be partly a thank you, partly an update and partly a call to action for the lurkers. |
| 1:41.3 | Stop saying the lurkers. |
| 1:47.8 | Also, it's not so much a crowdfunding as it is a pre-sales. |
| 1:48.4 | She's right. |
| 1:49.1 | Yeah. |
| 1:51.3 | Crowdfunding is a weird word, I admit it. |
| 1:55.8 | Crowdfunding is not exactly what we're going for, but yeah, sure. |
| 1:57.3 | Let's break down the boring bit then. |
| 2:00.6 | We're doing pre-sales in order to afford self-publishing. These are hardcover |
| 2:02.2 | books that are in color, which is the most expensive kind of book to print. We do it ourselves. |
| 2:07.7 | Firstly, we don't know how many to make. By doing a crowdfunding like this, we can see how many |
| 2:11.9 | people want a copy, and then we can cover the printing costs. Exactly. It's that simple. |
