Today we're going to discuss some trellis ideas.

Some different things you can do to build them instead of buy them, right? I think one of the things that's most expensive at a

garden center is a trellis of a certain design, right? Like it's, you can buy bamboo stakes in like five

bucks, but if you go and get a

designed trellis they're quite expensive and so how can you make some of these on

your own well here's a great one you can start out with just an a frame

so it's just two things where the point at the top meets

forming the A structure, right? Then you get some chicken wire and just put it over that.

You need a plant that can climb itself though for this type of trellis so anything that has a tendril like peas would be a fantastic example for this one.

Next one of the ones that I'm looking at a lot right now because it's very cheap and you actually don't need to

construct anything is

bamboo and twine so grab a bunch of bamboo steaks. You can get them in bulk.

Get the heavy duty ones, not the ones with the very thin tips. I think that's the cheaper style

where they're selling you the very top of the bamboo so the diameter is very thin. Don't get those. Just get those thick ones and then just tie it together with some twine. I wish I was a boy scout, I wasn't, but I learned some of these lashing techniques just by doing a little bit of searching around.

And the thing that's nice about this is you can make a trellis in any style that you want.

So if you wanted to do a classic grid style trellis, you could lash that up with bamboo, but you can also do

really long modular A-frame styles. You could do a T.P style. A lot of different ways that you can do this.
