0:00.0	Before we start the show today, we did want to do a quick shout out to John Garrett and his family.
0:05.3	John Garrett, longtime broadcaster for the Canucks and also player.
0:09.6	He was a goalie for them as well.
0:11.4	This is one of the guys that I think is the most beloved in the community.
0:16.1	He was working right up until earlier this week and unfortunately passed away at the age of 75.
0:21.7	I can tell you I had no interactions with John over my career. But producer Hayden, who does a lot of
0:27.0	my streams when he worked for Sportsnet, said that when John would call in or talk to you or come in,
0:32.7	he was one of those people that if he asked you how you were, he really waited for your answer. Looked you in the eye, wanted to know one of the kindest people out there. Yeah, there's only been kind words coming out about him. Yes. It's been great to hear all the tributes and everything. And it was so strange because, yeah, I was watching the playoff games with him. And then all of a sudden you get the news and it's really shocking and sad. Yeah. So he's a fantastic example of a life well lived, right?

0:58.9	I was saying last night too, you know, like guys like Bowen obviously retiring this year,
1:02.8	John Garrett sadly passing away, you know, there are people in broadcasting,
1:07.0	and this is what can make it so special, that it's sort of funny.
1:10.0	They do things and they capture a city in a way that nobody else could, right? You know, you're trained in broadcasting to be generic and not, well, we don't want to get too much personality out there because that might turn some people off.
1:24.7	Guys like John Garrett, Joe was another guy that I would suggest that, where you just, they grabbed you and you couldn't not listen. You couldn't not hear what they had to say and you couldn't not love them. John was one of those guys, a total unique guy. So a big shout out to his family, our condolences, and to the city of Vancouver, all the Canucks fans who are sad today. John Garrett, rest in peace.
