We're coming to you on an insane week, another insane week of being a black person in America.

Derek Chauvin, the officer who murdered George Floyd, was convicted on all counts.

Daniel, how does the Chauvin conviction make you feel?

Oh, I'm so glad you asked, Toray.

How does it make me feel?

Well, I will say that the hours before the verdict came in, I felt nauseous. I was shaking. I had physical reactions to what was going to be the impending decision. When it came

across, I screamed. I screamed at the television because the first announcement was for the

highest charge, which was murder two.

He was charged with three separate charges, murder two carrying the longest sentencing,

which was the one that many of us were holding our breaths about.

How do I feel?

I don't know because I thought that I would feel more relief. I thought that I would

feel like we could take a deep breath that this could be the first, uh, in a series that we would

say that police can be held accountable for killing us like fucking animals in the street.
