tells us about an experiment involving an AI friend, and ChatGPT is piloting group chats for

select users. Yeah, speaking of AI friends.

Let's start with what you need to know with a big story.

Open AI is piloting group chats in chat GPT.

And this is going to enable users to collaborate in real time inside of a chat instance,

essentially. It's like a group chat instance with chat GPT integrated inside of it.

The group chat experience is meant to provide a space for, you know, collective planning,

brainstorming, decision making, whatever you can come up with as a group.

Users can start a group chat by inviting up to 20 participants, quite a few people in a

single chat bot instance, into that chat with a shared link.

There are settings to manage group controls like naming and muting notifications, that sort of stuff.

And chat GPT will also keep, importantly, personal memories and histories private and separate from the group chat experience.

So you won't have to worry about your personal chats with chat.

At least they say you won't have to worry

about this creeping into the group chat experience. Now, this is a limited pilot, pilot for mobile

and web users, starting in Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Taiwan. Feedback from this pilot,

of course, will be used to tailor a potential broader
