Chat Jupy has a couple interesting new features they've launched. Recently, I want to cover on the show today. Welcome to the show. I'm your host, Jaden Schaefer. Of course. The first one is that chat GPT has a pilot group where they're doing these group chats for chat GPT. They're doing it in Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan. It's kind of interesting. They have, like, select geographic locations. And it is just like a regular chat GPT chat experience, except you have a whole bunch of people that can, you know, tune in, chime in on this chat. What is it going to be used for? How does this work? You know, what is the point of this? Great questions. I'll be getting into all of that on the show today. But before I do, I wanted to say there is one other story I'm very excited about, which is that Google or that Open AI has finally fixed ChatGBTGPT's M-Dash problem, which I'm sure all of you have experienced before. If you ask chat Chitipti to write basically anything,

0:57.5

almost every paragraph they're going to use the M-Dash in there, and it's just a giveaway that you're using AI to write your content. It's just annoying, and you have to kind of go through

1:02.7

and backspace them all. Anyways, this problem has been solved. So Sam Haltman was recently on

1:09.3

Twitter, and he posted, he said, small but happy when

1:13.1

if you tell chat GpT not to use M dashes in your custom instructions, it finally does what it's

1:17.3

supposed to do. This is all with the GPT 5.1 update. Now, how have people been responding this to this?

1:25.8

Someone posted a meme right under his thing, which says like like, open AI in 2023, and then it's like the meme of like the doge dog, and it's like super ripped. It's like the bodybuilder. And then it's saying like, AGI any day now. And then right next to it, it says, opening eye in 2025. And it's like a small wimpy doge dog crying. And it says, You can tell chat GPT not to use m-dashes. So, I mean, I think this just kind of goes to show we've had a lot of AI hype. People are a little bit jaded that we talk so much about AGI in the last two years and now we are making posts about m-dashes being removed from chat GPD with the latest update of gptv 5.1.

2:02.3

I think that's funny.

2:03.3

Someone else said opening eye killed another startup and they just had some code that says text

2:08.0

replace m dash with nothing.

2:11.1

So anyways, it's funny.

2:12.8

If that really was somebody's startup, it deserved to die, sad death. Someone said, I told it to stop using

2:20.5

m-dashes. It replied with an m-dash peak betrayal. And they showed their screenshot saying,

2:25.7

don't use m-dashes, and it used an m-dash in the response. So it evidently is not perfect. I'm

2:31.0

also going to say something that drove me crazy with this new GPT 5.1 update

2:34.7

is that in their like demo, they're like, you can tell it to respond using only six words. So I was like testing it and I was like, okay, only respond using six words, tell me a joke. And then it was like, told me a joke. And I was like, hey, that's great. Tell me another one. it told me another one but it used seven words and i'm like that's using seven words and so it's like

2:51.0

oh i'm sorry and it like fixed it to six but it used seven words. And I'm like, that's using seven words. And so I was like, oh, I'm sorry.

2:51.5

And it like fixed it to six words.

2:52.7

Okay, that was my experience.

2:54.3

And I'm like, whatever, it's like sort of good. It's not perfect. And then any message I said to chat, GBT today after that, it would, I'd be like, hey, like write a paragraph about XYZ, and it would like write it and write six words.

3:06.4

And I'm like, what is this?

3:07.7

And it's like, I'm only using six words like you said.
