The Apex on the Abyss presents the chasm, episode seven, the monster of the Andes.

Pedro Alonzo Lopez was born in Columbia on October 8th, 1948.

He was his mother's seventh born out of eventually 13 children. The young boy had a hard upbringing.

Pedro's father was killed before he was even born, so he never had the chance to even know him.

Pedro's mother was extremely abusive to her children, and she was also a sex worker who subjected them to her sexual encounters with various men.

It has been said that many of the men Pedro's mother interacted with physically abused her often, something that the kids witnessed.

By the age of eight years old, young Pedro was on his own and he lived on the streets.

His mother had allegedly thrown her son out of the house once she became aware of the fact that he was molesting one of his sisters.

Most reports regarding Pedro's young life claim this, but other states he just simply ran away.

While on the streets, Pedro would live a difficult life. Although

very little is known about his younger years, what we do know is that Pedro would be assaulted by an

older man who offered him a bed. This older man took Pedro into an abandoned building and raped him.

When he was 10 years old, Pedro would find himself staying with an American

couple who offered him shelter. They even enrolled him in a local school for orphan children.

He stayed at that school until he was 12, but he would run away after a teacher molested him.

He never returned to the couple who helped him. That anecdote would be the last bit of real information

we would get about Pedro's life until he's around 18 to 21 years old, which would put this

time frame at about the mid to late 60s. During this time, Pedro would be arrested for a car

theft and put in prison. While incarcerated, he would be brutally gang-rate by two to four other

prisoners. In retaliation for this assault, Pedro would murder the men who attacked him with a makeshift
