The Apex and the Abyss presents the chasm, Episode 5, The Hinter-Kyfecht Murders In 1922, approximately 50 to 60 miles north of Munich in Germany, there was a ranch.

It was called the Hinter-Kifect ranch. Though this is an

unofficial name, Kaifect is actually the name of a town, and Hinter is a German word meaning behind.

So simply put, this ranch was located behind the town of Kaifek. A family called the Gruber's lived there in almost complete isolation from others.

Within this family, there was a husband, Andreas, his wife, Kezela, their daughter, Victoria,

Even though the family lived about a little over a half a mile away from the town of Kaifek,
