I come from a long line of women who attended the largest and one of the most well-known all-girl Catholic high schools in Philadelphia.

St. Hubert Catholic High School for girls first opened its doors on September 8, 1941.

For over 75 years, thousands of young women have walked the halls,

donning the school uniform and showcasing proudly the colors of brown and gold.

I was one of these girls.

The four years I spent there taught me the importance of integrity and sisterhood. When I was getting towards the end of middle

school, I had to decide what high school I wanted to attend. My options were fairly straightforward,

a public school, a charter school, or a Catholic school. St. Hubert was the closest school to my house,

and many of my aunts had attended there. They always spoke so highly of it, so for me the decision was

easy. When you first enter high school, there is always a bit of hazing. Even if it's just a simple

joke, an upperclassman tries to play on you. For instance, a senior told me there was a
