Hi everybody, my name is Charlie, I'm a very grateful, recovered alcoholic.

My sobriety day, this March 22nd, 1985 and I am truly grateful for that, it's the most

important thing and one of the most important things ever happened in my life.

We're real excited to be here, it went through a series of airplane flights to get here.

I had that one from Tupelo, Mississippi over here was 19 minutes, 19 minutes, that's just

up and down and now I'll get to my level of nervousness in that later in the story but

it was a, that's the sort of spot I've ever been on, I believe.

One note, yeah, that's even shorter than the one I'll tell you about here in about 40 minutes

but I'm real happy to be here today, Randy and Lennon have been doing a good job taking

care of us.

I want to thank everybody on the committee and the other, anything to do with getting us

here, some of you folks we've met before and just anybody that had anything to do with

putting this thing on, we're real grateful for it.

If you've been around the AA for a while, a lot of people do a lot of work to get something

like this to come together and if it's like the group that I come from, there's also a

lot of people that didn't do a darn thing but they have a lot of ideas about how it could

have been done just a little bit better.
