The world has been saddened in the last week with the news of the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk is somebody who I knew personally. I'd spent time with him. I had been on stage with him.

He was an incredible individual who founded Turning Point USA, a conservative activist group that influences college campuses

all over the United States. He had a worldwide reach. Charlie was at Utah State University in

Provo, Utah, and he was assassinated by a young 22-year-old man, Tyler Robinson. The graphic images were shown on TV,

the crowd scrambled, and then we saw just a series of varied behaviors, some in mourning, expressing

great sympathy and sorrow all the way up to President Trump in the White House,

to other bands of college students celebrating a CNN analyst making a callous comment,

and he was fired.

A University of Mississippi employee fired and others fired for saying that Kirk deserved it or expressing

happiness at his death. Charlie Kirk had a tremendous engagement with young people and

it was a debate-style engagement where he would basically appear before a crowd, it was organized,

and then individuals would come to the microphone and they would debate various issues.

Charlie took the Christian conservative stance, others took a more liberal or secular view of the world and they debated.

And this was a debate style that occurred.

Kirk had never completed a college degree.

Interestingly, Tyler Robinson didn't either.
