Charlie Kirk, one of the most influential figures in conservative politics, died this afternoon

after being shot at Utah Valley University.

President Trump announced Kirk's death on Truth Social, calling him a legend and expressing

his sympathies to Kirk's wife and children. Videos on social media show Kirk speaking under a canopy when a single shot rings out.

He then falls back in his seat as the crowd screams and runs for cover.

Police say the suspect is still at large after previous reports that the shooter had been arrested. Local police are now

urging students to shelter in place while they hunt for the attacker. Kirk was just 31 years old and a

father of two, as well as the founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative group that organizes on school campuses across the country.

He was a key ally of President Trump and helped mobilize young voters during the

2024 election. His loss is already sending waves across the country, with leaders from both sides

condemning political violence at all costs.

Poland said Wednesday it shot down multiple Russian drones that entered its airspace overnight.

According to reporters, the Polish military recorded 19 violations in just seven hours,

calling the incident a quote act of aggression and summoning NATO allies

to help secure the territory. Poland says some of the drones came from Belarus, where this week

Russian troops are preparing for war games with their close ally. The Kremlin has not yet commented,

while Belarus claims the drones simply, quote, lost their course.

It marks the first time that NATO has confronted a potential threat inside its airspace,

describing the breach as Russia's most serious violations since the war in Ukraine began.
