Tonight we're joined by former chairman of the Republican National Committee and, of course, the next senator from the great state of North

Carolina, my favorite state, by the way, my good friend, Michael Watley, Michael, welcome to the right

view. I'm so happy to get you on. First of all, I'm very excited to hear that you stepped up to

the plate to run for Senate in North Carolina. We know we need a good

person there, but I would be remiss, of course, if we didn't start with what I think is still

on all of our minds, Charlie Kirk, this horrific tragedy that, of course, we all saw play out

last week. I keep thinking, Michael, about us last year, like a year ago right now at the RNC, you were chairman,

I was co-chair, and we worked, you know, so often with Turning Point, we worked alongside Charlie

Kirk. And I would say, and I have said this publicly, had it not been for the work that he

was able to do with a younger generation of Americans,

I don't know that Donald Trump would be president right now, Michael.

What are your overall thoughts?

Just give me kind of where you stand on all of it.

Well, look, I am heartbroken.

I'm crushed.

You know, we lost a friend and Erica lost a husband and their kids lost their father.

In a tragedy, it's horrifying that this is where the policies of the left, the rhetoric of the left, have really kind of gotten to a point where this is something that we're dealing with.

You know, I likened it in a lot of conversations or the last few weeks

with, you know, when, when President Trump was shot and, you know, just kind of the recoil that we had,
