I'm Alex Marlow. I'm the editor-in-chief of Breitbart News. I'm the host of the Alex Marlowe Show podcast on the Salem News Network. And I'm in for Hugh today. It is a breaking news situation. My friend, my colleague at Salem, Charlie Kirk, has been shot. He was at an event in Utah Valley State University. And it is one of these situations where we have very

little that is known at this time. Other than that, it looks very, very grim. It does not look good

for Charlie, and it does not look good for the country. The fact that we have a country where

this is possible is beggars belief. We've been here before many decades ago, but this would be a high-profile

assassination if that's what it is. And if hopefully for the best, it is not. Hopefully this is

something where we will get up to his medical condition momentarily. And I will bring you all the

latest on the show. I'll talk to you about my relationship with Charlie. I'll talk to you about

his relationship with our colleagues here at Salem and the incredible good he does for this country

and this movement. I'll tell you on a personal level, Charlie and I are in a number of chats together,

and one of them yesterday, there was discussion about safety at this particular event. It was

a huge event. There's a lot of drama in

Utah about Charlie's presence there because Charlie stands for things that offends people on the

left and he has become a real symbol of freedom, of free speech, of clarity in this country.

And one of the real representatives of the right word shift of younger American voters that we're starting to see,

particularly in young men, but also just young people across the board.

He's been a friend of mine from really the start of his career in high school.
