Please be advised. Lancaster County in Pennsylvania has become a tourist town. Not so much because of its lush vegetation and rolling hills, but because of the Amish

communities that reside there.

Tucked into the tiny hamlet nickel mines is a community of Amish people who should N them closer to God. Tourists journeyed to see the Amish plow their fields with horses and travel the street by

horse-drawn buggies.

Nighttime in nickel mines can be disconcerting to the tourists who visit.

There are no street lights to illuminate the roads and the lack of electricity in the houses and barns create an abyss of darkness.

In 2006, truck driver Charles Roberts would drive through the dark streets and collect milk from the Amish farmers.

Though not Amish, Charles had grown up near the community and had become a relied upon presence from the farmers.

Monday, October 2, 2006 was no different from any other.

When he finished his run at 3 a.m.

Roberts parked his big rig in the usual place

across the road from the one-room Amish schoolhouse

and drove home. Hours later, Robert's returned to the parking lot where he left his truck, but he was not there to get his truck. Instead, Roberts watched the schoolhouse across the street.

As the teacher called the students back inside from recess, he slowly made his way to the school.

Charles Roberts entered the Amers Schoolhouse with the intention of never walking out alive.

And he made sure that he was not the only one.
