Welcome to the Advisory Opinions Podcast. I'm David French with Sarah Isker and we've

got lots to cover today, lots to cover. In fact, we have so much to cover that we've

punted some of it already, already punted to Thursday. So we're not going to do a lot

of like beginning chit chat because we're going to dive in and we're going to have four

big subjects. We're going to talk about the terrible school shooting in Michigan and

the really interesting charges of involuntary manslaughter leveled against the parents. Parents

who promptly kind of sort of went on the run. I think it's a fair way to say it, but we're

very quickly caught. We're also going to talk about a couple of Supreme Court cases

that Sarah is going to brief you on that are very, very important, but have definitely

gotten lost in all of the dobs conversation. And then we're going to end up with some

dobs conversation where we're going to take on some of the questions and vitriolic

accusations leveled against one Sarah Isker in the comment section. And so Sarah is going

to have a chance to respond to those. So stay tuned. That's going to be not necessarily

spicy Sarah. Is it? I haven't decided yet. You haven't decided. Well, good. Well,

then all the more reason to stay tuned. So, but let's start with the Michigan case. This

is really dreadful. It's a horrible case. And it's got a unique twist to it and that

the parents have been charged. And I'm not going to say parents have never been charged

in a school shooting because there's an awful lot of school shootings that have occurred

that have not had not made headlines. For example, and there hadn't been a lot of national

follow up. But Sarah, I don't know of parents being charged. And I'm sure readers can correct

me. And any of sort of the quote unquote big school shootings. This seems pretty new

to me. And interestingly, the student was charged with terrorism. So two unique charges
