Now for this morning, I want to take us back to 1st Corinthians chapter 4.

As I said last week, I've been talking to you about the church and what the

church should be, and I thought that you deserved an equal time for what the pastor ought to be.

So last week we endeavored to give you a picture of what the scripture says about the pastor,

the pastors, spiritual leaders, those who have the

responsibility to represent Christ among his people and feed the flock of God. What is required

of them? And there are so many passages in Scripture that deal with this. In fact, First and

and Titus, all three of those brief epistles deal in detail with that, and many other portions

of Scripture do as well. But I've chosen First Corinthians 4 because I think it boils everything

down to the sort of irreducible minimum, and that will be helpful, I hope, for you.
