Even the crickets went quiet while listening to the moans and groans as two young people steamed up the windows of their car.

Parking just off the road, slightly in the woods, seemed like a good place for young love to run its course without being disturbed.

Most legends start in a parked car,

in the dark woods, in the back seat. So caught up in the moment, it is nearly impossible

to hear the rustling of the leaves as someone or something approaches. The smell of something dead with a hint of smoke

and ashes begins to fill the car. The couple stop distracted by the foul smell that is decay

with a hint of backyard barbecue. A chill creeps into the air and

goosebumps signal the sense that they are being watched. Wiping the condensation from the window,

they are horrified to see a face staring down at them. It was not a normal face.

It was disfigured and burned.
