December 4th, 1991, I left my house here as I usually do it 7, 7, 10 in the morning.

For Glendale Arson Investigator John Orr, December 4th, 1991, began like just another

Wednesday.

As I was blocking the trunk of my car, I looked towards my neighbor's house, and here's

a guy standing in the driveway behind a cypress bush, he had a gun in his hand, of course

I got my attention right away, and I also was carrying my duty gun on my left ankle,

and so my first thought was to analyze what's going on here and then go for my gun.

At that time I then heard a car pull into my driveway, about 25, 30 feet away, and saw

that was a black and white LAPD unit with two uniform guys getting out of it.

So I started to back off a little bit, feeling that, okay, they're here in response to the

man with a gun call next door at my neighbor's house, I remember looking up, seeing about

18 or 20 guys converging on my car and my front porch, and my wife just kind of stand

in there.
