Well, I think 96 Olympics was a big year because I feel,

I feel, and I think a lot of teammates feel it was kind of a springboard in 99. So what happened in 96? First time women's soccer is in there. So we were ecstatic.

We had to have, I think, a world event before they would see it as an Olympic event.

So the 91 happened, the 95 World Cup happened.

And then 96 came around.

And for myself, and I think, I'm going to speak for my teammates, I grew up always wanting

to be in the Olympics.

That was our guest, U.S. Women's National Team legend, Christine Lilly. And this is founding football.

Growing up, my dream of becoming a major league baseball player took on many forms and followed many pathways.

I considered the whole journey, how my high school career would go and the colleges I wanted to attend.

I dreamed of playing at the University of North Carolina or Arizona State or Stanford.

I had read about the challenges of the minor leagues, bus rides and bad foods.

I let my imagination run absolutely wild.

It would all have to happen before breaking into the show, preferably with the Phillies, my hometown team.

Then making my name as the top defensive catcher who also switch hit.

Not all dreams become reality, but man, did they fuel hours of hard work during my childhood.
