Chapter 11 aboard the Hogwarts Express. Jay, all I can say is about gosh darn time.

It's about time. We're at Hogwarts, man. We are at Chapter 11. I know. I know. We're at Chapter 11.

We're still not there. We won't get there until 12, really. Until 12, yes. And just as a reminder,

Sorcercerer Stone, Philosopher's Stone, only has 17 chapters. So if you were only getting

to Hogwarts at Chapter 12, like that was like Harry going to the sorting, the entire plot

would happen within five chapters. Yes. Yeah. Although, to be fair, Chapter 17, the man with

two faces does start with Harry entering the chamber that conceals the mirror of Ereced. Yeah. And ends with him back in London with the Dursleys. I know. I like always remember like the, um, like in, in writing class, like in, you know, sixth, seventh grade where you'd have like the, you know, the, the, the, the,

the plot and then the rising action and the climax and then the falling action and then

the resolution. Yes. You know, all, all that stuff. And I'm like, Sorcerer Stone manages to put the,

like the, the, the climax, the falling action and the resolution all in one chapter.

Yes. Yes. Right there at the end. Right there at the end. Right there at the end. Meanwhile,

this one has spent some time just getting to Hogwarts. Do you even remember, if this is your first

pass, do you even remember who Bertha Jorkins even is at this point? I know, right? Like,

do you, do you remember Harry's dream? Right. This, that is, that's, that almost has, I think that's a huge part of the explanation for why it takes so long. It is like, you were dumped in immediately. And because of the way the other books start, it's like you don't even, you know, It doesn't really feel like the book has started until chapter two, because that's how the other books start.

dream to you too. Exactly. Yes. Yes. I think, I think that effect is working extremely well. And just for

funsies, I did go and I pulled up the film to see how long it took to get to this moment inside of the film. Yeah. It takes 13 minutes, 46 seconds to get here. 13 minutes. Well, they don't even do the Dersley's and God, let of fire. They don't even do it. They just start walking to the port key. They start with Harry waking up, I think, in the bed. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Um, but like, Hermione's already there. And it's like, we got to go. And then they walk off or whatever. But yeah, so we don't see any Quidditch World Cup or whatever. So it's just, I was like, man, it is remarkable to me. But this is, this is a book that especially from like a film adaptation standpoint,'s a lot you have to do there is a lot
