I am Tony Wiggins, the host of the barbershop here on Locked on NFL, and he's my Friday co-host, Matt Williamson from the Pick Six podcast. Let me tell you what we're going to do today. We're going to talk about the NFL draft and where it starts. At the end of the show, the Buckeyes went crazy at their workout in the middle of the show, the Pooka and the Kua effect. But at the very top, the draft starts where? And it could be a pick or it could be a player. But at some point, Matt Williamson, this draft is going to get weird. It's going to get weird. And none of the mocks, the most I've ever hit in a draft, is eight picks. And I hit the last three. That was like in 2002. That was a long, long, long time ago, but I hit the last three players. Let me show you how long ago it was. There was an edge rush out of Purdue by the name of Spencer. And he either went to the Chargers. Yeah, he's one of those those those those those tweeners the six foot three two hundred fifty five. That was a long time ago, but I hit the last three and the most I ever hit is eight. That's because it gets weird, man. And I got a feeling I got a feeling is going to get weird not at pick number two. But the Jets are a team that can make this thing weird because they have two

first round picks and that player might be tie simpson check this out i think the danger is it's

very easy to talk yourself into the idea that if you need a quarterback you got to draft a quarterback

you know the idea we're never going to get good unless we unless we roll the dice on the

quarterback and to an extent that's roll the dice on the quarterback.

And to an extent that's true.

The problem, though, is that if you take the wrong quarterback, you're setting your franchise back.

And it's better to pass on a good quarterback than it is to take the wrong quarter.

Okay, so I agree with Bushko.

You are always, every team that doesn't have a quarterback is always on this trek, if you will, to find a quarterback because you know you're not going to be sustained until you find it. But I disagree that you're going to set yourself back because the Vikings don't feel like they, the Vikings had a one year setback. They got Kyle Murray. They feel like they're going to be okay.

It's not like the Sam Bradford deals. It's not like where these dudes are coming out and they're getting these $100 million deals and they're setting you back salary wise as well as commitment

wise. But I do think that when you draft the guy, especially in the first round and he doesn't
