15 years ago when conference realignment talks started bubbling up, it was scary, but in a tornado siren kind of way.

You hear it, but you don't ever really think it's going to affect you.

That's how it felt for Kansas and Kansas State. But not anymore. This is an absolute crisis for both athletic departments

for very different reasons. But they're both part of the same state university system,

and it occurs to a lot of people. It's time for some leaders in Kansas to step up. A former governor of Kansas doesn't

believe that's happening and thinks it's hurting the chances of these schools getting a positive

outcome. Dr. Jeff Collier says current governor Laura Kelly is asleep at the wheel because, quote,

she's a New Yorker that never went to a Kansas school, unquote. Maybe that's politics, but maybe Dr. Collier is right,

and this state is in horrible position to navigate these choppy waters. Dr. Collier joins us
