Hey everybody. It's another edition of the Shay Anything podcast, Doug Williams alongside Andy Martino. This might be my most anticipated episode that we've done.

Ooh! Because we wanted to do the show on Monday, but the thing about podcasting is when you really want to do it sometimes you can't.

Because, and honestly, thank goodness, we didn't record Monday afternoon because...

Yeah, that would have been dumb.

Came the press conferences from Philadelphia.

And that's where we're going to start, obviously.

You were in Philadelphia. We were just talking before we started taping about how

uncomfortable that room was. Brody spoke first, and that was contrite. That seemed normal.

He hit all the talking points. Then Mickey walks into the room. You can get into all

of that, but I just want my big picture question to you to be, have you, through your reporting,

made any more sense of all of that that happened since it happened? You mean why Mickey handled it the way he handled it?

Yes.

Have you gotten any background information on why what happened happened?

He was expected to be apologetic and went rogue and didn't and surprised his bosses and angered

his bosses. So that's what happened. He was supposed

to go in and do one thing and he did another in his office with the media there. And then,

of course, an hour before first pitch, I'm standing in the dugout. A lot of reporters were

already in the press box. I was there downstairs still only because I still had to do BNMI

from the field. And Harold Kaufman, the PR guy, scath, comes in, quick.

Mickey wants to talk again in his office.

Everyone was running in his office.
