Hey there guys it is Nurse Mo and welcome back to episode 21 of straight A nursing.

0:19.5

So today we're going to be talking about something that I developed when I was a student.

0:26.0

It's a systematic way of looking at the information you need to absolutely know for different disease processes.

0:36.0

And before I get into all of that, I just want to say that if you're struggling with case studies, if you find that they're taking

0:47.0

you forever because you're all over the place with what you're looking up, what you're

0:51.8

writing about, what you're trying to learn.

0:55.0

This can help you immensely.

0:58.2

And if you're also just studying in general, you know, a certain disease process, and you feel like, oh my gosh, there's so much information, I don't really know what to focus on.

1:09.4

This method can help you tre tremendously. Once I started using this, I was able to really organize my thinking

1:19.4

and it made remembering the things I needed to remember so much easier and now as a nurse I find

though it has really nothing to do with coffee except that when I came up with it, I was sitting at my desk and really struggling with going way overboard on my case studies.

1:50.6

And I looked at the coffee sitting on my desk and I thought, there's got to be a way for me to organize my thinking.

1:58.0

And I came up with L-A-T-T-T-E. So that is an acronym you guys and that is L A T T E. So each letter represents a portion of this thought process so that you can really hone in on what you need to know

2:20.1

for a specific disease process.

2:22.8

So I'm going to go through it with you.

2:25.0

We'll use COPD as an example.

2:28.6

If you're a first semester nursing student,

2:30.6

COPD is something that you will be learning about so you'll be able to understand what I'm talking about as we go through.

2:36.1

And if you're beyond that and COPD is a cakewalk for you at this point then you can at least just get introduced to the

2:46.2

method I have some samples on the straight a nursing student.com website for some things that are a little more complex Student in the lautae format, but for this purpose, let's just go with something, I'm not going to say

3:05.8

COPD is simple, but something a little more common that you're going to see and that you'll definitely
