In May of 1999, a petrified 14-year-old girl stumbled into a Hong Kong police station

0:07.6

with a chilling story to tell. For weeks, she had been tormented by the vengeful ghost

0:12.9

of a woman bound with electrical wire and tortured to death. At first, the police simply

0:18.8

dismissed her claims as the product of a teenager's overactive imagination. But when she revealed

0:24.4

that the ghost was of a woman she helped murder, the authorities were immediately intrigued

0:29.8

by her story, even though they remained skeptical. Despite their doubts, they asked the

Curious, the officer reached in and felt something smooth and hard, something that felt

1:25.1

a lot like bone. With a growing sense of dread, he pulled the object out and found himself

1:30.5

staring at it in disbelief. He had just discovered the skull of 23-year-old fanmei Yi. This is Monsters.

1:55.1

Even before her excruciating death, fanmei Yi lived a very troubled and difficult life.

2:10.5

Born in 1975, fanmei Yi was sadly abandoned by her family when she was young and subsequently

2:17.5

raised in an all-girls orphanage. At the tender age of 15, she was kicked out of the home

2:23.2

due to the orphanage's age restriction and left to fend for herself. Without a place

2:28.5

to go, fan found herself homeless so she relied on drugs to get by, and she relied on sex
