I've got a smell test at the end of the show. And also at the end of the

show today, I'm going to play for you a short excerpt of one of my favorite interviews that I've

done, certainly in recent years. It was with Billy Packer, the legendary college basketball

analyst. He passed away last night at the age of 82 years old. I had Billy on

the podcast shortly before the 2021 Final Four, so nearly two years ago. It was great. He was incredible.

Great memory, great storytelling, stories I had never heard. I think stories that, you know, a lot of people that follow college basketball and even

follow Billy Packer had never heard.

I mean, it was one of those deals where I called him and I said, because I had had him

on the radio show before and I said, well, you come on with me.

He said, sure.

And my plan was to talk final four games with him, but he wasn't even really paying attention to college basketball.

So it turned into, I don't know, it seemed, I think it was like an hour and a half almost.

It was certainly over an hour of basically, you know, a podcast about Billy Packer and him telling stories about his broadcasting career

primarily. It was really one of my favorites. So you're going to hear a short part of that at the

end of this podcast. And I'm thinking that I might put out the entire interview as a separate

podcast tomorrow.

Because some of you reached out to me after you heard that he had passed and said,

I loved that interview that you did with him a few years ago.

And I did too.

So I'll put out, I'll put out tomorrow that interview is just a separate podcast.
