Dr. Horn, thanks so much for coming on. First off, I'm a huge fan of your work. I've read a number of your books. One of the things I particularly appreciate is how thoroughly cited and clear you make a lot of your arguments that, you know, I went to school for history, and I felt like I was reading a different history, which is just wild to think.

And I think that speaks to the complexity of the way our historical narrative has been constructed.

But I want to start before we even get into the book, what really sparked your interest to write about your most recent book around Washington, D.C.?

Well, actually, it's interesting that you mentioned that because my most recent book in the last few days is armed struggle, question mark,

Panthers and communists, black nationalists and liberals in Southern California through the 60s and 70s.
