Have you noticed that your animals have a whole reality that you're kind of part of, but mostly you're just a spectator?

We always have an odd one in the crowd, so it's kind of odd.

I'm excitedly odd.

Isn't that strike you as a little bit odd?

No, that doesn't strike me as a little bit odd.

It's the Bob and Sherry Oddcast with stuff we wouldn't, couldn't, or shouldn't do on the regular show.

So Lamar and Doc and I were talking.

I was telling these guys how difficult it's been for my pets to process the losses that they've had in their little herd.

So at one time, we had three dogs, four cats, and a lizard.

And we're down to two cats and a dog right now.

And it's been tough.

So the two cats I have left are Larry Munson, my Bengal, and Charles Xavier, my Devin Rex.

Charles' litter mate, brother and best friend, Tiberius, died last year.

And then Ms. Esme, who had been the mother of everyone at age 17, passed away shortly before Christmas.

And Charles, he's 10 and a half, and I think he's got

kitty cat dementia. He can't process the loss. He walks around yelling and crying. In the week

after, a week or so after, Esme died all night long, he would pace the house, prowling and yowling. And it's not because,

well, we thought we did the right thing. The hospice vet came to the house. And so all of our

pets could experience Ms. Esme passing and then gone so they wouldn't be looking for her.
