Hello and welcome into the Northwest Bank Studios for Cycle and Fanatic Daily on a Thursday. Christmas came early,

a second fall camp media availability of the week. Today we talked to the linebackers room and the

defensive line room. It's no secret that Iowa State's front seven has to be better than it was last year.

Dead last in the conference in sacks and the second worst

rush defense is something that we're not accustomed to seeing out of an Iowa State defense. The good

news for the D-line is that Dom Orange is back and he's proven that he can be a total force as the

anchor of the defense, but he himself has been open and honest that his conditioning hasn't been at the

level that it needs to be. Defensive line coach Eli Rashid said that Orange is in the best shape of

his life and now the goal is to have him on the field at 100% as many snaps as they possibly

can throughout the game. If Orange is playing more high-level snaps, that makes life easier for everybody else.

A lot of times it gets frustrating for him is that he's getting these blocks and they're eating him up.

But we also have to understand if, man, if these guys are falling back on the inside, that we have one-on-ones on the outside.

Is that we have to do, man man we have to win those sets and um it's like will macdonald same deal the guys opposite from will

macdonald loved will because he was going to get all the attention and they were going to have some man's side of the

pro and that's where your yourny or Rosaryke's coming

live, because now they're turning the protection to Will McDonald, and he has the 101.

So they have to know that, man, that guy's going to get some attention.

Man, I have to be outside. I have to win my 101 there and be successful when that does happen.

Matt Campbell said looking back at last year that Ike Izziagu probably should have played

more than he did. For Ike, it's a similar story to Orange.

The word is consistency with Ike. I think yesterday's practice, man, he had a step in the right way.
