scored what I can only assume is a pity touchdown, and Georgia is already deep in Michigan

territory again. Ari Wasserman, this has been an absolutely boring day of college football.

The semi is disappointed again, as usual.

And so now we're left to explain to people why 12 teams would still be more interesting than four, because you can't really get much

talking to some of our subscribers at the Athletic on one of our live rooms, which, by the way,

we do those every once in a while. You can pop on, ask us questions. It's sort of like a call-in radio show, except on the app. That was what we were talking about is what would some of these games look like. And I mentioned the Peach Bowl, because I thought the Peach Bowl was a lot of fun. Kenneth Walker III didn't play for Michigan State. Kenny Pickett didn't play for Pitt. It was still a really fun game.

But imagine if that game had been the 8-9 game at Spartan Stadium with both of those guys playing.

That would have been a lot of fun.

Yeah.

It's like you have to add to the playoff to make it interesting for a few more weeks before it gets boring again.

Yeah. It's like you're not adding to the playoff or expanding the playoff because it's going to open the doors of opportunity for more teams to win the national championship.

You're doing it so you have fun games with with manufactured stakes until it gets to the point where the teams with all the best players end up blowing out whoever ends up winning the Michigan State pit game. And it's like, I know that's like a hard thing to say. And like, you know, the hope is that the expanded playoff will help even out the numbers a little bit. But it's just another. I don't think it. I don't know that it would,

but I'd still rather have those fun games ahead of this because this sucks. Yeah.
