Summary

(00:00-23:58) – Query & Company opens on a Tuesday by discussing last night’s Monday Night Football game between the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns with Indianapolis set to take on Denver following the week off for both teams. Additionally, they examine the AFC playoff picture right now and discuss the likelihood of Detroit and Buffalo facing off in New Orleans in February for the Super Bowl.

(23:58-36:23) – ESPN College Football Insider Adam Rittenberg joins Query & Company following last night’s CFP Rankings to share his thoughts on how the committee viewed Alabama and Miami. Additionally, they evaluate the chances of SMU making the CFP if they lose to Clemson this weekend, states that Indiana is locked into CFP because there is only one realistic bid steeler and Indiana can’t move out of the top twelve teams and believes that there is still skepticism about the Indiana Hoosiers.

(36:23-43:44) – Jake closes out the first hour of the show by asking Jimmy and Eddie for their advice on something that was brought to his attention yesterday when it pertains to his life.

(43:44-1:04:36) – John Fanta from FOX Sports joins Jake Query & Jimmy Cook to share his thoughts on what he has seen from the Indiana Hoosiers this season after really liking what he saw in the preseason. Also, he evaluates the future of Mike Woodson, assesses if the Butler Bulldogs will be able to make it back to the NCAA Tournament, and applauds the job Matt Painter has done already with getting his players to understand their roles on the team and get them to buy in.

(1:07:31-1:19:13) – Dustin Dopirak from the IndyStar joins Query & Company to recap last night’s loss for the Indiana Pacers to the Toronto Raptors. He opines on the comment that Tyrese Haliburton made following the game last night, tries to make sense as to why Obi Toppin only played 14 minutes last night, and agrees with Jake that Jarace Walker hasn’t consistently taken advantage of the minutes he’s playing on a nightly basis.

(1:19:13-1:23:58) – Hour two of the program concludes with Jake and Jimmy addressing a tweet from Albert Breer about moving the Big Ten Championship college football game to Chicago from Indianapolis.

(1:23:58-1:49:12) – Zak Keefer from The Athletic joins the program to provide an explanation as to what Andrew Luck’s role will be as the General Manager of Stanford football and admits that the play for Anthony Richardson still isn’t a finished product, by any means, but he’s making more winning plays since returning from his benching. Finally, he acknowledges how beneficial it would be for Richardson’s development if Indianapolis is able to get the team back into the playoffs.

(1:47:44-2:00:12) – Jake and Jimmy come back from break and address some of the rumors that are coming out about Mike Woodson and his lack of preparation of influencing recruits to commit to Indiana. Additionally, Emily Longnecker calls into the program to address the story that was discussed earlier in the show.

(2:00:12-2:04:53) – Today’s show ends with the JCook Plays of the Day and JMV joining the guys in the studio!

So here's the thing, Jimmy, I've got to, you know, four times a year, I confess, I defer to you and I go, you know what, I was wrong about that.

0:09.7

I was completely off base, right?

0:11.0

Okay.

0:12.8

It happened so rare you have to forgive me.

0:14.5

I don't know what number we're on.

0:15.6

We're running out of days in the year or so.

0:17.0

Well, I've got one left between now and the end of the year. I had mentioned when the Pacers went up and played in Toronto the first time

0:24.7

that I was somewhat impressed by like their grit and their resilience because they were very short-handed.

0:30.2

And you were the one that pointed out, you're like, dude, Toronto's terrible.

0:33.3

Yeah.

0:34.6

Like Decatur Central should be able to hang with them, right?

0:41.6

And I realized they had Scotty Barnes back last night versus matchup number one up there.

0:44.9

But, and I don't think he played up there a matchup number one.

0:45.6

I can be wrong on that.

0:50.3

But I don't understand what happened last night.

1:02.8

You know, I've had time to sit here and digest it. And I actually had this uncomfortable epiphany because I'm watching the game and we actually did our Christmas tree last night.

1:12.3

So it was kind of on off to the side, right?

1:14.4

And so I'm looking at the game and I look at the score and it was like a 10 or 12 point game.

1:20.8

And then I put up literally two ornaments and I turned around and they were down 21 or something.

1:25.6

And I thought to myself, how in the world versus Toronto are you down 20 plus points?

1:32.1

So I said, I'm going to have to pay attention here.

1:35.0

I sit down and right as I sit down, Carlisle puts in Obie Toppin.
