2021 and the first is the conclusion of the college football season. Field Yates, in for the second show, did not get canned after just one by Mel Kuiper or Todd McShea who are also in the line.

So you guys are telling me that I didn't totally screw things up. Another show wouldn't hurt field.

we'll make our assessment field so you got a little bit of a of a preseason here

with us. No job security until like March for me is what you guys are telling me.

We are of course going to recap last night because this is taped on Tuesday, January 12th.

Last night's college football playoff final. Alabama is now once again the national champion.

We're going to talk about Devante Smith a little bit later on in the show,

obviously just a dynamic performance from him and all the other major takeaways

from last night's game.

But we're going to start in order that's kind of just been arbitrarily decided upon.

And last week on our first show of the new season, we talked a lot about Trevor Lawrence,

of course.

But Mel, we talked a ton about Justin Fields as well as he had just come off of the impressive

showing against Clemson and felt like kind of reasserted himself back into the conversation

to be the next player taken behind Trevor Lawrence in late April.

Last night he goes 17 for 33, 194 yards with a touchdown, plus six carries for 67 yards.
