Welcome back to the latest edition of The Audible presented by Trader Joe's. I'm Bruce Feldman joined as always by my colleague from the Athletic Stewart Mandel.

We're taping Wednesday night and it's late February and there's some big

college football news that's been brewing for a little while, Stu, as we've talked a lot about the playoff and all of a sudden now it seems like there has a shift

which quite honestly a lot of our readers and and listeners I think expected to be coming and it's it looks like they've already

jumped a step and now they've already had more expansion than they expected

than we may have expected at this point.

It's been a weird week or so.

I'll tell you that much, Bruce, covering the various developments

involving the college football playoff.

Last we left off, right? We knew there's been a 12 team playoff this fall and the fall after that and the only really outstanding detail was, you know, originally it was going to be six conference champs and six at largest, but then the PAC 12

imploded and so they just needed to approve to go five and seven and Kirk

Schultz, the Washington State President was holding it up. That finally got

approved.

In the meantime,

so Andrew Marsha joined the athletic recently,

the greatest sports media reporter in the Biz

formerly the New York Post

and his first big scoop for us was that

the spien and the college football playoff have an agreement in place

for a six-year extension

1.3 billion a year.
