live from Whiskey River in Ankeny the first edition of 2019.

I'm Jared Stansberry. I'll be joined by Brent Bloom here in just a few minutes.

Bloomer is on his way. Just a little bit late getting off from work. Chris will jump in a little bit later on as well.

But first you guys are going to get to hear me talk about Iowa State's win last night to open big 12 play a 6963 win over the

Oklahoma State Cowboys you know I think the the first thing that that really came to my mind with mind with this game when it came time for me to sit down and write my five thoughts after it got over.

You know, I would say certainly did not play very well when you look at the stats sheet you look at everything

that all the numbers and everything like that you know 36% from the field 33% from

behind the three-point line and in the fact that they were able to go into Stillwater

into Galgar Abba Arena and come out with a victory, you know, I think is really encouraging

for the Cyclones as they enter into big 12 play especially when

you consider the fact that they're still really just kind of getting used to

playing with this this full complement of players and you know you look at things and you get zero points from

Taylor and Tucker only you know just took four shots was over four from the

field and you know Michael Jacobson who has arguably been Iowa State's most consistent player throughout the entire

non-conference slate.

He scored just four points in 19 minutes and for Iowa State to be able to go into that game

and leave Stillwater with a win when you consider those kinds of things.

I mean that's, I think that's very encouraging for the trajectory of Iowa State basketball here heading forward and I think another
