I'm Jared Stansberry reporting from Orlando, where I was State and Notre Dame each got their first opportunities to take the field on Tuesday.

Prior to their matchup in the Camping World Bowl on Saturday at 11 a.m. Central time,

I was State head coach Matt Campbell said the

Cyclones are trying to keep their game week routine as normal as possible

leading into the bowl game. What's great about bowl games is if you have a really

powerful purpose, you really can kind of keep things as normal and I think that's the one great thing about our kids and our program and our team.

These are powerful experiences. These are first and you know the opportunity to have a purpose is really strong and so when you have

that I think you can keep a really good routine and still be able to enjoy some of the

moments but really have a have a great opportunity to have a strong purpose and stay on your routine to allow

you to play your best when your best is needed.

That comes just one day after Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy admitted to potentially

being too hyped up for the cyclones is lost to Washington

State in the Alamo Bowl last season, Campbell is hoping that experience will help Iowa State's

sophomore signal caller in a second time around.

That environment.

And I think for a guy like that where, you know, so much is on your shoulders that you got to feel it you

got to go through it and then you got experience to understand how to prepare for

it so I think all those things are are great navigating forces as he gets ready to take on to another really powerful
