episode. And today we're going to be talking about China's foreign

policy. China's closer alignment with Russia, Iran and North Korea in the wake of the war in Ukraine

is causing major concerns in the US and in Europe and is likely to lead to sanctions on China.

Relations between the US and China are fraught, with fears of a flare-up in the South China Sea.

Relations between the EU and China is somewhat better, but facing many strains.

China has been making concerted efforts to court the Europeans, seeking to pull them away from the US.

However, the European Commission's tough stance on trade issues vis-à-vis China is annoying the Chinese

and also creating arguments within the EU, with the Germans in a different place from the Commission.
