For today, we have had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Rob Reinhardt, right before he spoke at a

CEO dinner.

Mr. Rainwright, of course, is the director of Europol, the EU's police agency.

He has been in office since 2009, and under his leadership, Europol has really become a fully-fled's police agency. He has been in office since 2009 and under his leadership,

and migration. Our CEO research fellow Camino, Matera Martinez, has spoken to Mr.

Wainwright about the challenges that Europol faces today where he sees the agency going and what the

with us. We are living interesting times. We have Trump, we have Brexit, we have populism. There's a lot

of people who are retreating from the international state, and people distrust institutions,

no least international institutions.

Some think that structures like the one you are heading Europol

are not relevant anymore.

They are not useful.

What would you say to these people?

Why is Europol important today?

Well, I think in my world,

we've seen a mark shift towards the globalization of crime and terrorism.

You know, the very nature of the terrorist threat in Europe right now is defined by the way in which it operates across multiple borders,
