| 0:56.0 | time, there are very rich fishing grounds, and there is the expectation that a lot of oil and |
| 1:01.8 | gas deposits can be found at the bottom of the sea in Wells. And besides that, the South China Sea is |
| 1:08.3 | now increasingly politically or geopolitically relevant |
| 1:11.4 | because there are various competing claims over the reefs, islands or rocks, the territorial |
| 1:18.0 | features that are scattered around the South China Sea. |
| 1:21.7 | So we talk about various island groups, the Strattley Islands, the Paracel Islands, |
| 1:26.8 | and the littoral states bordering the South China Sea all have competing claims over this. |
| 1:31.3 | And one of the most expansive claims is the Chinese claim, the so-called 9-Lyme. |
