and welcome to this week's edition of the CER podcast.

As listeners last week we'll know, Beth Oppenheim has left the CR and is now working

for a great charity in Israel.

So we're going to try out a slightly different format.

So today I'm going to be discussing Brexit with Charles Grant.

Hi Charles. Hello Sam. The director of the Centre for European Reform. And we're going to be

discussing what's happened this week, what with the UK publishing its negotiating mandate to the EU

had already published it a week or so so before and there's been obviously been some

fallout from it. We knew the issues were running into this. We knew that there were going to be

disagreements on state aid, the role of the Court of Justice, whether fish and access to fishing

waters would be something they could agree on or not.

And then there's also some other issues to do with the structure of the future partnership,

whether it should be made up of multiple different agreements on trade, security,

justice and home affairs cooperation, the like,

or if it should all be packaged together.
