Three minutes after 10 is the time and I find myself occasionally looking at events in the news

and wondering whether or not someone has accidentally activated April Fool's Day based decisions

rather than the middle of September and yesterday was very much one of those moments.

You know with social media these days things can look so realistic, aren't they?

You can knock up a complete scam, a complete prank that looks exactly like the real thing.

You can imitate the fonts that news websites use.

You can make a completely homemade piece of nonsense look exactly like it's been published

by an august, as august an organisation as the BBC. You really can. And even someone who's

been in this trade for, let's be 26, the best part of quarter of a... Oh, my days.

I mean, look, a quarter of a century ago, I was doing shifts on newspapers, but I was still

flogging suits at the weekend.

But I have actually been in this profession for the best part now of a quarter of a century.

Believe it or not.

And I get fooled by stuff. I do a double take. I do a little bit of a head wobble

sometimes and I sometimes think that simply can't be true. So let me preface all that follows

by telling you that some of the stuff that is likely to appear in front of me today may not

be true. I'm fairly confident that my sources

are accurate on the British Guinea Pig Association story. I do believe that they have taken a

decision in the highest echelons of guinea pig related power in this country

to move guinea pig awareness week forward one week so instead of beginning on the 19th of
