I'm the host Scott Feinberg and my guest today is one of Broadway's most popular and consistently

strong actresses. She's a four-time Tony

nominee first in 2005 for the 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, then

in 2012 for Peter and the Star Catcher, then in 2014 for the Glass Menagerie, and now this year for her

rave-reviewed portrayal of Scout Finch in Aaron Sorkin's blockbuster version of To Kill a Mockingbird, the front runner for the best featured

actress in a play Tony Celia Keenan Bulger.

Over the course of our conversation at the West and New York at Times Square, the 41-year-old

and I discussed the devastating blow at the outset of her career

of being relieved of the leading role in the musical, The Light in the Piazza, just before it went to Broadway.

How she rebounded by making her Broadway debut in and receiving her first Tony Nome for the 25th

annual of Putnam County Spelling Bee, which was the first of several parts connecting

right through to Kill a Mockingbird in which she has played a child,

how she broke out of musicals and into plays such as the Glass Menagerie, the Cherry Orchard,

and now to kill a mockingbird. Plus much more.
